In April 2022, in order to consolidate and systematize the research and development works of subsoil users included in the group of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC, within the framework of the subsoil users’ annual obligations in the field of science, and in accordance with the order of the Head of State dated January 5, 2022, “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC established the “Center of Scientific and Technological Initiatives.”
In December 2022, the Center of Scientific and Technological Initiatives was re-registered on the platform of the International Financial Center of Astana by transforming into a non-profit organization, the Fund “Center of Scientific and Technological Initiatives ‘Samgau’.
Our mission is to create an effective and transparent ecosystem of scientific-technical and innovative activity for the formation of a knowledge-intensive economy, contributing to the welfare of the population. In fulfillment of its mission, the Foundation “Center of Scientific and Technological Initiatives ‘Samgau’” provides sustainable development of the real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan by supporting R&D and innovation. To achieve this, we set the following goals:
Establish an efficient and transparent system for selecting and implementing R&D and innovation initiativesThe system of selection and implementation of research and innovation initiatives should be a transparent and understandable process from the moment of application to the completion of the project. The effectiveness of the selection should be ensured through a detailed examination of projects, while the transparency of the process should be ensured by access to information on the status of the project at all stages of selection and implementation.
To create practical mechanisms for interaction between the scientific and innovative community and industryIncreasing the competitiveness of the domestic industry is directly related to the need to introduce innovative, knowledge-intensive technologies at enterprises. The scientific and intellectual potential of research organizations in Kazakhstan should be concentrated on solving technological problems of domestic enterprises to optimize production processes, increase productivity, and enhance technological equipment.
Become an integrated part of the National Innovation and Research SystemTo improve the efficiency and coherence of all elements of the national innovation and R&D system, it is necessary to build interaction with government agencies, development institutions, research organizations and universities, industry, and financial institutions. This ensures synergy with all existing instruments to support research and innovation activities.
